Singapore – Raffles Graphic Designer Trieu Hoang Anh Le (Aria) received the prestigious Southeast Asia’s leading design award – The Singapore Design Award (SDA) 2015 in the Student Category for his outstanding work done for The Coca-Cola Company.
SDA honours outstanding designers, design students and design practices from across the world and aims to raise awareness for the region and the strategic role of designers with Singapore at the heart of a dynamic Southeast Asia.
Aria’s design concept was based on a new packaging vision and digital marketing strategies for Coca-Cola in Year 2020. By introducing a new type of soft drink packaging made of waterproof paper that can be recycled and reused, she hopes to minimise the amount of wastage and promote environmentally-friendly products. In order to reach out to the young people who are tech-savvy and uses social networking platforms regularly, she proposed the use of banner advertisements which is eco-friendly, interactive and will encourage more interaction for users.
“I was surprised and happy to win this competition. Raffles Creative Practitioner Dr. Marie Chae has helped me a lot in shaping the structure and idea of my design. This competition is a great opportunity for me to express myself, and winning it was the very first step in challenging myself further in the future.” said Aria who is currently pursuing Master of Design with major in Graphic Design.
